<li>I have been lusting after the Madewell Transport Tote for years after seeing it on <a href="http://franishtheblog.com/" style="font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Fran's blog</a><span style="font-family: "lato" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">. However, recently I have found myself carrying my black </span><a href="https://www.katespade.com/products/wilson-road-nylon-bradley/098687136648.html" style="font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Kate Spade Bradley Backpack</a><span style="font-family: "lato" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"> to work more often than a tote. This has caused the </span><a href="https://www.madewell.com/madewell_category/BAGS/crossbodybags/PRDOVR~G8078/G8078.jsp?color_name=english-saddle" style="font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Madewell Small Transport Tote</a><span style="font-family: "lato" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"> to catch my eye more. I do not like to carry large purses around with me during daily outings so this seems like a perfect meet in the middle bag for me.</span></li>

<li>I am currently waiting on my at home try-on pair of the <a href="https://www.warbyparker.com/eyeglasses/women/watts/sugar-maple">Warby Parker Watts</a> glasses. I have been looking for the perfect pair of round glasses to add to my collection and I am hoping that these are it!</li>

<span style="font-size: x-small;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072J95RM8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&th=1" target="_blank">bag</a> (<a href="http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/street-level-reversible-faux-leather-tote-wristlet/3559375?BaseUrl=All%20Handbags&origin=category&cm_mmc=Linkshare-_-partner-_-15-_-1&siteId=QFGLnEolOWg-EvnLUvjCezPvt_pFW7mfug" target="_blank">similar</a>) / <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Philips-SHB8750NC-27-Canceling-Headphones/dp/B015CVOEW6/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1503517855&sr=1-1&keywords=phillips+wireless+headphones" target="_blank">headphones</a> / <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WIOU362/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1" target="_blank">wallet</a> (<a href="https://www.fossil.com/us/en/products/emma-rfid-large-zip-clutch-sku-sl7153494c.html" target="_blank">similar</a>)</span></div>
<br />
I have been obsessed with the <a href="https://www.madewell.com/browse/single_product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441762515&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302026059&bmUID=lUbZd_Y" target="_blank">Madewell Transport Tote</a> for quite some time, but as a new professional who just moved I cannot currently justify the high price tag that comes along with it. So I went searching around the internet and found <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072J95RM8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&th=1" target="_blank">this reversible bag in black and cognac</a> (now sold out of that color combination) that would serve as a great tote for traveling. It feels sturdy, but light, and I don't feel like I have to worry about the straps fraying and breaking if I over stuff my bag.<br />
<br />
Along with my phone, wallet, and headphones I have a lot of little pouches I carry. I prefer to keep all the things in my purse in little pouches to make it easy to find things as easy to switch the bag from black to brown. I also have a chronic case of "just-in-case," so I end up carrying a lot more than I actually need. Here is a quick glimpse into what I carry in my pouches on the daily:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpsTr0UAQ7RL8uOEJyj71SSfxPrf-kN68L1XbEVeVAk-T1kmJ4cR1QbtX3rz2xbCjx48Rdv5zkOc3STcKNOM84_3foV8qiasTgFL1CE_EAXYP4f-F2V1Uj4arIhTF2j75xx6cT0QNTgJ8D/s1600/Screen+Shot+2017-08-23+at+4.17.12+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="582" data-original-width="881" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpsTr0UAQ7RL8uOEJyj71SSfxPrf-kN68L1XbEVeVAk-T1kmJ4cR1QbtX3rz2xbCjx48Rdv5zkOc3STcKNOM84_3foV8qiasTgFL1CE_EAXYP4f-F2V1Uj4arIhTF2j75xx6cT0QNTgJ8D/s1600/Screen+Shot+2017-08-23+at+4.17.12+PM.png" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Pouch One: Toiletries</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
You never know when you are going to want a quick refresh, so I carry a small vinyl pencil pouch filled with a few essentials to get me through those days where I feel particularly hot, humid, and gross. The vinyl helps ensure there are no spills in my purse and it being clear helps me see what I need a little better.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZkqMG9oYa43cVV-TX6zp0EFcE67Ofi7zLGLZZOev7adM5dhEG2ztVpLfhHmXUV4UqFVpOlGymQjAkLf5JmA_U-93oV4p9fJIBn203G8-FkMm1dz5XT4xhTwqE82rEkPR7ACjSeQega3Oa/s1600/Screen+Shot+2017-08-23+at+4.17.33+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="587" data-original-width="910" height="412" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZkqMG9oYa43cVV-TX6zp0EFcE67Ofi7zLGLZZOev7adM5dhEG2ztVpLfhHmXUV4UqFVpOlGymQjAkLf5JmA_U-93oV4p9fJIBn203G8-FkMm1dz5XT4xhTwqE82rEkPR7ACjSeQega3Oa/s640/Screen+Shot+2017-08-23+at+4.17.33+PM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Pouch Two: Makeup</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
While I always do my makeup at home, having a little bag makes touching up a breeze. My on-the-go makeup bag has makeup products I don't care for enough to use on a daily basis, makeup I am close to finishing but already bought a replacement for, and makeup I bought that isn't necessarily the right shade-but could work if I needed to. I don't like to waste makeup (either by not using or returning), but sometimes products just aren't great enough for everyday use so they get rotated to the travel bag.<br />
<br />
This is great to have if you end up unexpectedly staying at a friends house or if you try to pick up Panera for a work event and end up stuck in a torrential downpour which washes off all your makeup and makes you feel like a drowned, harassed rat (speaking from personal experience).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK2QCmB3JHlvezngS7vM6qZTK3R1OoJAM8y5d17CLBHAVr919iJ6ghjQNBTlQ9NjWLmIetDF-MYy4NGYExHX7In51WX40NeXMR_N4fN_-B2gajAz45_Meo2PjFt29i3r85NW_9OQewl_8R/s1600/Screen+Shot+2017-08-23+at+4.17.21+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="581" data-original-width="880" height="422" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK2QCmB3JHlvezngS7vM6qZTK3R1OoJAM8y5d17CLBHAVr919iJ6ghjQNBTlQ9NjWLmIetDF-MYy4NGYExHX7In51WX40NeXMR_N4fN_-B2gajAz45_Meo2PjFt29i3r85NW_9OQewl_8R/s640/Screen+Shot+2017-08-23+at+4.17.21+PM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pouch Three: Miscellaneous </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The bag I bought actually came with two smaller pouches (one black and one brown). In one pouch I keep random items I couldn't find a space for, like Pamprin, chapstick, Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs Rollerball, more Altoids, and my phone charger. In the other pouch (not pictured), I keep receipts for my expense reports, business cards, and spare change. I really like that these totes have a strap that can be attached to the straps of the bag to make them easier to find.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Depending on where I am going, I will also throw my Macbook or my iPad in my bag and a quick snack like a granola bar or a bag of Goldfish crackers. I am hoping that this bag will serve as a great carry-on tote on my trip to Cleaveland next week. <i>What are some of your favorite things to keep in your bag?</i></div>

I love my job, but I also I spend a lot of time at work which means that I like to have some comforts throughout my day. Throughout my two months at my current office, I have found some items that the work day would be terrible without.<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>Wireless Headphones: </b>My
office is really lenient about using headphones while we are working, which is
great because it helps me get through the day. I love to use them to listen to
podcasts or music while I’m working.<br />
<div>
<div>
<ul>
<li><i>Podcasts:<b> </b></i>Podcasts are great when I am having
a slow day at the office. Working on light tasks like editing social media
posts or pulling data to create various reports allows me to focus on the host(s)
and stories. I find that podcasts really pass the time if I feel like the day
is dragging along. Some of my favorite podcasts include: <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/unhappy-hour-with-matt-bellassai/id1253622346?mt=2">Unhappy
Hour with Matt Bellasai</a>, <a href="https://stownpodcast.org/">S-town</a>, <a href="http://thisistheread.com/">The Read</a>, and of course the podcast that
started it all for me, <a href="https://serialpodcast.org/">Serial</a></li>
</ul>
</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li><i style="font-style: italic;">Background
Music: </i>The temptation to sing along while listening to familiar music when
I am trying to work on projects is way too strong, so I like to listen to various
lyric-less background music throughout the day. This <a href="https://open.spotify.com/user/spotify/playlist/37i9dQZF1DWVqfgj8NZEp1">Coffee
House Jazz</a> playlist on Spotify is my absolute favorite work playlist. Just
like the name implies, it really makes you feel like you are just sitting and
working in a cozy coffee shop and really ups my productivity.</li>
</ul>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b>Throw Blanket: </b>I
get so incredibly cold in my office. It is outrageously hot outside, so
obviously I can’t wear heavy winter clothes indoors. I (along with most of my
office mates) keep a small throw blanket to cover my legs at my desk for the
days where I feel like I will die an icy death at work.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b>Tervis:<i> </i></b>I actually keep two different
Tervis cups at my desk: one <a href="http://www.tervis.com/mug?campaign=Branded|General|Tervis|Phrase&adgroup=Mugs|General&keyword=tervis%20mug&mt=Phrase&gclid=CjwKEAjw_dTMBRDHusz5vZaV1g0SJACkjOf8pdKqYYiCEt_S4pQvn2D4B072M0ol5fMBH-3WgWYrRRoCubXw_wcB">16oz
mug</a> for my coffee and one <a href="http://www.tervis.com/24-tumbler">24oz
tumbler</a> for my water. I like to make coffee as soon as I get to the office
so I prefer using a Tervis with a lid to keep it warm while I get busy and
situated in the morning.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b>Planner:</b> I am a
diehard fan of my outlook calendar, so I don’t use my planner to plan my day.
Instead, I use each day’s page as a list of things I have done during that day.
For example, if I have an important email I have to send I will put it down in
my planner once I’ve completed it so if someone comes by and asks when/if I’ve
done something I can go back and reference that I have actually done it.<o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b>Snacks: </b>I got to
Sam’s Club every so often to buy bulk, pre-portioned snacks that I can bring to
work to get me through the day. They are really helpful since I don’t typically
eat breakfast (which is bad, I know) so I tend to get a little peckish before
lunch time rolls around. Some of my favorite workday snacks are apples, granola
bars, and goldfish crackers.<br />

<ul style="background-color: white; font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.4; margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px 2.5em;">
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;">After terminating their relationship with campus fraternities following policy disagreements between students and administration, <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2017/07/27/university-colorado-boulder-adding-back-fraternities">UC Boulder is bringing back fraternities to its campus</a>. The disagreements stemmed from administration's proposal of policy changes that would put fraternities under increased watch following the death of Lynn Gordie Bailey, Jr. in an alcohol hazing activity. This is creating an interesting dynamic because essentially there will be two Greek systems on UC Boulders campus--the two new campus-affiliated fraternities and then the fraternities who cut their ties with the university in 2005 but continued to operate around campus. It'll be interesting to see if these chapters choose to reaffiliate with the campus fraternal community.</li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;">T<a href="http://www.npr.org/2017/07/29/539855490/trump-donates-to-education-department">rump donates his second quarter salary to the Department of Education</a> which some are praising as an act of good will. However, Trump's donation is $100,000 while calling for <a href="http://www.npr.org/sections/ed/2017/05/22/529534031/president-trumps-budget-proposal-calls-for-deep-cuts-to-education">cuts of <b><i>$9.2 billion</i></b></a> to the Department of Education's budget.</li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;">I love this <a href="http://www.chronicle.com/article/Rethinking-the-Student-Affairs/240824?cid=wsinglestory" target="_blank">piece about The Placement Exchange, also known as TPE</a>. TPE is a huge conference where a lot of second year higher education graduate students have dozens of interviews all in the span of three days in the hopes of finding a position in the field. However, TPE is only held in one location each year and typically they are relatively expensive to attend. I have attended as an employer before, but I chose to forgo it when I was job searching this year because of how extremely cost prohibitive the conference and travel was for my graduate assistant salary--a decision which puts many graduate students at a disadvantage each and every year.</li>

<ul style="background-color: white; font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.4; margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px 2.5em;">
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;">My jewelry collection is seriously lacking in necklaces. I've been seeing Audrey from <a href="http://www.puttingmetogether.com/">Putting Me Together</a> rocking a large gold locket and I have been in love with how much it made her outfits look more cohesive. I am not a big fan of gold jewelry, but this <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/194468543/elegant-silver-locket-platinum-silver?ref=hp_rv">silver locket</a> from Etsy seems to be a perfect fit!</li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;">I'm seeing more and more of <a href="https://factory.jcrew.com/p/womens-clothing/skirts/mini/linencotton-sidewalk-mini-skirt/41575?sale=true&color_name=black">these types of skirts</a> pop up around Georgia and I love the way they look. I am not the biggest fan of the way that pencil skirts fit on me because I always feel like if I get them to fit right in the hips, they don't fit right on my waist which means they twist and turn all day. The elastic waistband on these skirts seems like it'll fix that problem!</li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;">I'm not a fan of carrying a large purse around when I am going anywhere that is not the office, but I also <i>love</i> to carry around a bunch of things that I don't need while I am out and about. I am considering making the switch to a mini-backpack which seems to be becoming more and more popular. <a href="https://www.target.com/p/women-s-nylon-backpack-handbag-merona-153/-/A-52584996?lnk=rec%7Cplp%7Ctop_sellers%7Cplp%7C52584996%7C4">Target</a>, <a href="http://us.topshop.com/en/tsus/product/mini-ring-backpack-6724951?bi=0&ps=20&Ntt=mini%20backpack">Topshop</a>, and <a href="https://www.nordstromrack.com/shop/product/1930057/t-shirt-jeans-flap-backpack?color=BLK">Nordstrom Rack</a> have some cute options to consider.</li>

<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;">It's been a busy week at the office as school's begin to start their Fall semesters. Right now, I am preparing materials for <a href="http://hazingprevention.org/home/prevention/national-hazing-prevention-week/">National Hazing Prevention Week September 18-22nd</a>, and I could not be more excited to contribute to this important week and hopefully encourage some great discussions with collegians. </li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;">I'm starting to plan my Fall conference schedule and I am so excited to get the opportunity to meet new people within the field and receive some professional development!</li>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. <a href="http://www.ulta.com/fit-me-matte-poreless-powder?productId=xlsImpprod11851143" target="_blank">Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless</a>: I use this translucent powder as a great setting powder for under my eyes. I also use it to set my eye shadow primer.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. <a href="http://www.ulta.com/instant-age-rewind-eraser-dark-circle-treatment-concealer?productId=xlsImpprod3490149" target="_blank">Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser</a>: I switched to this concealer from the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer because I feel like it stays put all day. The sponge tip applicator also makes this a great concealer to keep in in my bag because it is perfect for quick touch-ups.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. <a href="http://www.ulta.com/eye-booster-2-in-1-lash-boosting-eyeliner-serum?productId=xlsImpprod3030017" target="_blank">Physicians Formula Lash Booster Eyeliner</a>: I used to be a die-hard Stila eyeliner fanatic, but once they reformulated I noticed it drying out a lot faster than usual. I saw ThaTayla rave about this on YouTube and I absolutely love it. It has a brush tip and applies so smoothly and is so black. I can't vouch that it has actual last boosting properties, but as an eyeliner it is fantastic.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. <a href="http://www.ulta.com/make-me-brow-eyebrow-gel-mascara?productId=xlsImpprod13561153" target="_blank">Essence Make Me Brow</a>: I don't use this alone, because my brows are both thin and light, but I like to use this with my Anastasia Brow Wiz to give my brow hairs some more definition and make them look a little less filled.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
5. <a href="http://www.ulta.com/infallible-makeup-extender-setting-spray?productId=xlsImpprod11861085&sku=2283501&_requestid=9453635" target="_blank">L'Oreal Infallible Setting Spray</a>: This is literally the only setting spray I have liked. I tried Urban Decay's and I just didn't feel like it did enough to justify the price. This has been perfect for those crazy humid Georgia days.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
6. <a href="http://www.ulta.com/one-heck-of-a-blot-instant-perfecting-power-primer?productId=xlsImpprod13801019" target="_blank">Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer</a>: I'm not really sure if this primer actually helps keep my oil under control, but it does make my foundation easier to apply.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
7. <a href="https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjcrJLN9q_VAhXBTCYKHfS4DvgQFgh0MAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ulta.com%2Fhydro-boost-gel-cream%3FproductId%3DxlsImpprod12041837&usg=AFQjCNEWis863Uxj5wMWbqypnT8TeXPA2A" target="_blank">Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream Moisturizer Extra Dry</a>: I have nothing but good things to say about this moisturizer. It is by far the BEST moisturizer I have EVER used. I have very sensitive skin and this doesn't agitate it one bit (unlike the overhyped Cervae in a tub). My only advice is to make sure that you buy the extra dry version because the other version is fragranced. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
8. <a href="http://www.ulta.com/voluminous-lash-paradise-mascara?productId=xlsImpprod16151007" target="_blank">L'Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara</a>: I just love this mascara so much. The only downside is the pink on the bottle chips away after awhile and makes the tube look terrible.</div>

Under this controversial proposal, students could face disciplinary action for joining these groups, causing concerns regarding whether or not this infringes upon students' rights.</li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;">As we continue through Trump's presidency, there are increasing concerns about <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2017/07/21/gop-budget-would-mean-billions-cuts-higher-ed" target="_blank">cutting the already limited funding</a> in higher education.</li>

I moved to Georgia with my only pieces of furniture being a cube shelf and a queen mattress I stole from my dad's guest bedroom. Luckily, almost two full months of being in my new place I have managed to get some essential furniture pieces (like a bed frame, a couch, and some end tables) and switch my focus to decorating. Luckily, with the <i>back to college</i> season upon us, it is the perfect time to get little pieces for the home. Below are some finds that I have my eyes on!<br />
<br />
<b style="background-color: white; font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><i><span style="font-family: "lato" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 13px;">Living Room //</span></span></i></b><br />

1. <a href="https://www.target.com/p/kenya-fleece-accent-rug-threshold-153/-/A-50599719#lnk=sametab" target="_blank">Kenya Fleece Accent Rug</a> - $84.99 from Target<br />
Area rugs are <i>pricey</i>, but I love the simplicity of the rug. My living room theme at the moment is cream and gray with gold accents, so this is a perfect fit.<br />
<div>
<br />
2. <a href="https://www.target.com/p/bulletin-board-with-chalkboard-and-hooks/-/A-14971970#lnk=sametab" target="_blank">Bulletin Board with Chalkboard and Hooks</a> - SALE $23.74 from Target<br />
This is more of an entryway item than a living room item, but I love the ability to write a reminder to myself and have it be the last thing I see before I grab my keys and head to work.</div>
<div>

3. <a href="https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-and-Gardens-Faux-Fur-16-x16-Decorative-Pillow/24412512?variantFieldId=actual_color" target="_blank">Better Home and Gardens Faux Fur Decorative Pillows</a> - $11.88 from Walmart</div>

I actually bought similar pillows for my couch from Home Goods earlier in the month. I love the contrast of textures it brings alongside other throw pillows and how nice and soft they feel.</div>

Do I need another throw blanket? No. However, I love the <span style="background-color: white;">diamond weave design and think it would be great to put on the corner or edge of a bed with an all white comforter.</span><br />

I don't know how my bedroom became <i>full on </i>cactus/succulent themed, but when I saw this tapestry while picking up some coffee creamer at Target, I knew I had to have it in my room. I'm not particularly handy, so having a tapestry on the wall means a lot less empty wall space with no nails, hammers, or hooks required!</div>

My apartment has a weird feature because the bedroom has this odd desk that is built into the wall. While it is one less piece of furniture for me to buy, I've been looking for ways to make it a nice, decorated workspace without compromising the aesthetic of the rest of my bedroom. These light clips are a perfect way to decorate the area around the desk while also keeping in line with the rest of my bedroom. </div>

1. <a href="https://www.tervis.com/straw-lid-for-24-oz-tumbler-24oz-straw-lid-1199601.html">Tervis Straw Lid</a> - $3.99 from Tervis<br />
This one isn't really decoration, but it is definitely on my wishlist. I've been trying to drink more water at work each day and I have found that I am way more likely to drink from a drink sitting in front of me with a straw in it than I am to drink from a water bottle. This has prompted me to consider getting a new 20oz Tervis cup with a straw lid and a set of straws in an attempt to be a bit more green with my straw usage. I have a trust Tervis mug that I use every day at work for my coffee, so I think adding one for my water is a welcomed addition. Plus you can customize them any way that you like!<br />

I fell in love with this style of chairs after sitting in them at a cute little restaurant in Virginia the day before I moved to Georgia. I looked around everywhere and was finding them in the range of $70-$100 <i>per chair. </i>Thankfully, after browsing Amazon for awhile, I found these chairs (which come in a set of two) and ordered them immediately and I <i>love</i> them. They are comfortable and sturdy and add just a little bit of flair to my dining area, however, the instructions to build them aren't the best so make sure to read them carefully a few times before beginning to build them.<br />

I love having a wall clock in the kitchen because it means I don't have to do all the work of programming the oven timer when I am trying to do something quick. This one is cute and such a bargain.<br />

Now, I'm starting my next life stage (and my first time not being a student). I've moved from Virginia to Georgia to accept my dream position as a student affairs professional who gets to support the fraternal community each and every day.</div>

Since I'm finally done with being a student (at least for now) and have <i>a lot </i>more free time, you will be seeing more activity around these parts. I have a huge revamp plan for this place and I <i>can't wait</i> to get the party started!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-557763679118624497.post-87961459816219474542015-08-17T11:13:00.003-04:002015-08-17T11:17:04.008-04:00Snippets<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I am finally moved and I am currently working on getting through my new job training, so things have been hectic over here. However, I am working on getting things back up and running by the end of the week so there is a lot to look forward to.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am going to describe life as a new grad student fresh out of undergrad, as well as my experiences working in students affairs in my graduate position. I am also going to begin posting outfits, as my new job comes with a whole new dress code.</div>

As of Sunday at 3:00pm, I am officially a college graduate. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and I am going to be leaving this city in a few months to attend graduate school to receive my M.S.Ed in Higher Education with a concentration in Student Affairs.</div>

It's been a wild four year ride, and I did many things that I never though I would do like become a Resident Advisor, join a sorority, and officially feel like an adult. I know that I have a lot more to learn before I can officially call myself a Student Affairs professional, but I am excited for all that is to come.</div>

<br />
As a huge fan of both Lilly Pulitzer and Target, I am very excited for the Lilly x Target collection that is coming out April 19th. I have been obsessed with the look book every since it came out, so here are the top five items I want to snag on April 19th.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://static.targetimg1.com/2015/ol/01/prize/assets/img/products/women/578x578/women_shift-dress---upstream.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://static.targetimg1.com/2015/ol/01/prize/assets/img/products/women/578x578/women_shift-dress---upstream.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b>1. Shift Dress - Upstream $38.00</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have been obsessed with shift dresses lately as the weather has been warming up and I feel like this is such a fun summer print. The patterned stripe down the middle makes the dress a little less overwhelming.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://static.targetimg1.com/2015/ol/01/prize/assets/img/products/plus-size/578x578/plus-size_plus-size-underwire-bikini-top---fan-dance.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://static.targetimg1.com/2015/ol/01/prize/assets/img/products/plus-size/578x578/plus-size_plus-size-underwire-bikini-top---fan-dance.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<b>2. Underwire Bikini Top - Fan Dance $24.00 </b><br />
As a lady with a 36E bust, I am really happy to see some swimwear with underwire <i>and</i> what looks to be very supportive straps. This top is online only and does have a matching set of bottoms (for an additional $24), but it looks like its a winner.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://static.targetimg1.com/2015/ol/01/prize/assets/img/products/home/578x578/home_ceramic-mugs-with-gold-caddy---set-of-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://static.targetimg1.com/2015/ol/01/prize/assets/img/products/home/578x578/home_ceramic-mugs-with-gold-caddy---set-of-4.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>3. Ceramic Mugs with Gold Caddy $30.00</b><br />
I have a weird obsession with mugs lately which makes this set perfect for me. I love the gold detailing on the handles of the mug and the caddy for perfect storage.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://static.targetimg1.com/2015/ol/01/prize/assets/img/products/beauty/578x578/beauty_loreal-colour-riche-designer-extraordinare-lipstick-201-rose-symphony.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://static.targetimg1.com/2015/ol/01/prize/assets/img/products/beauty/578x578/beauty_loreal-colour-riche-designer-extraordinare-lipstick-201-rose-symphony.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<b>4. L'Oreal Color Riche Designer Extraordinaire Lipstick #201 Rose Symphony $8.99</b><br />
I love this rose pink color. It seems like it would go great with a lot of my outfits without being too overwhelming. I definitely like to keep things a bit more natural looking during the summer months. Also, who doesn't love that packaging?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://static.targetimg1.com/2015/ol/01/prize/assets/img/products/women/578x578/women_crochet-tank-top---white.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://static.targetimg1.com/2015/ol/01/prize/assets/img/products/women/578x578/women_crochet-tank-top---white.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>5. Crochet Tank Top - White $32.00</b><br />
This is a great tank top to wear with some denim or patterned shorts and give off an effortless look. It would also look great with the swim top from above peeking out of it (that white with the patterned bikini top would make me swoon).<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">My graduation cap! It only took two hours to glue everything in place and cut out the glitter states.</span></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In a little over a month it will be time for me to graduate from undergraduate with my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education! This semester has been a long semester of student teaching, working on my teaching portfolio, having multiple positions in my sorority and sorority council, finishing my graduation cap, and trying to squeeze in as much time planning for my future as I can.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Recently, I found out that I have been accepted to graduate school and beginning in August I will begin working towards my Masters of Education in Higher Education - Student Affairs. I also found out that I was accepted into my dream assistantship and I am very excited to begin my the newest chapter of my life in an entirely new place.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This last month of college is going to be crazy, but then I am finally going to get some time to relax and visit family and vacation and basically do what I want before graduate school captures me and I am so ready for it to begin. However, part of me is also sad to let undergraduate go and I have been spending a lot of time reminiscing about my time in undergrad; my RA experiences, my friends, my sorority sisters, and all of the wonderful and influential people I have had the honor of working with or beside these past four years.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But even though I am anxious about what is to come in the next two years all I can think is...bring it on!</div>

While the weather is just starting to cool down here in North Carolina, every store has already begun its preparations for Christmas. Hobby Lobby is decked out in trees and tinsel, Yankee Candle is starting to break out the Christmas scents, and make up companies are finally releasing their much anticipated limited edition holiday collection. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Holiday collection are a great way to try out brands and colors for cheap since they usually contain a lot of shades in deluxe sample sizes.cHere are some collections I am looking forward to seeing!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1.<b> <a href="http://www.loraccosmetics.com/make-up_mega-pro-palette.html" target="_blank">Lorac MegaPro Palette</a></b> - $59</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/p526x296/10606368_10153051741415166_5757424061301648301_n.jpg?oh=feb7f68176a9c9075f8f489a92eb205c&oe=54BB41E9&__gda__=1422191871_bb43ab97ddb61a3c8666f1d9a6d41af5" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/p526x296/10606368_10153051741415166_5757424061301648301_n.jpg?oh=feb7f68176a9c9075f8f489a92eb205c&oe=54BB41E9&__gda__=1422191871_bb43ab97ddb61a3c8666f1d9a6d41af5" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
With 32 shadows, this palette is Lorac's largest yet, with double the amount of shades in previous Pro Palettes. The price isn't bad when you consider the Lorac Pro still runs at about $40 for 16 shades. Lorac has always done a great job with shadows, and I prefer the Pro Palette to Urban Decay's Naked Palettes because they have the perfect amount of shimmer without being too glittery.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I love the diversity of shades between colorful and neutrals, and I am specifically looking forward to the berry colors (Merlot looks amazing). However, while I am a sucker for neutrals, it does seem some of the neutral shades are a little too close to each other to show a huge difference when applied.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The Lorac MegaPro Palette comes out on Lorac's website and Amazong on October 7th, so mark your calendars and set your alarms, because I have a feeling these are not going to take long to sell out!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
2. <a href="http://tartecosmetics.com/tarte-item-kiss-and-belle-deluxe-lipsurgence-lip-set" target="_blank"><b>Tarte Kiss & Belle Deluxe LipSurgence Lip Set</b></a> - $34</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://www.hellomissniki.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/kiss_and_bell_box_horz.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.hellomissniki.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/kiss_and_bell_box_horz.jpg" height="302" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This set seems like an amazing value to me. I have been eyeing the Tarte lip colors for quite some time and $34 for such a wide variety in shades and finishes seems like an amazing deal to me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This set comes with four lip tints (Dreamy, Alluring, Innocent, and Dainty), 2 matte lip tints (Eternal, and Fancy), and 2 lip glosses (Kiss and Belle). If you are on the fence about trying Tarte lip products this is a great starter set (as the full size lip tints run about $18).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I do wish they had included at least one darker berry shade, but overall the colors seem to be worth it. This is definitely on my holiday wish list and it is already available online and in stores!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
3. <b><a href="http://www.sephora.com/melted-kisses-P390806" target="_blank">Too Faced Melted Kisses</a></b> - $30</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.musingsofamuse.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Too-Faced-Melted-Kisses.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.musingsofamuse.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Too-Faced-Melted-Kisses.jpg" height="438" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I have seen a lot of positive reviews of the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks, and while I have not had the chance to try them out for myself, this holiday set might just be the think that lets me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This set comes with four deluxe sized shades (Nude, Peony, Berry, and Fuschia). I like the broad spectrum of nude to dark berry and from what I have heard and seen they are long lasting.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I honestly don't think I am going to make it through the season without picking this up because I have had my eye on them for quite some time. These are available at Macys and Sephora!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
4. <a href="http://tartecosmetics.com/tarte-item-chic-to-cheek-deluxe-amazonian-clay-blush-set" target="_blank"><b>Tarte Chic to Cheek Deluxe Amazonian Clay Blush Set</b></a> - $34</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://tarte-cdn2.s3.amazonaws.com/item/700/600.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://tarte-cdn2.s3.amazonaws.com/item/700/600.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I truly am a sucker for Tarte so it is only natural that they appear again on my holiday wishlist. I have previously used the Tarte Cheek Stain and I loved it, but I have been looking to expand my blush collection for the upcoming winter months. The Amazonian Clay set is amazing and every time I have walked into Ulta I have debated picking up a shade, but every time I seem to talk myself out of it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This set comes with four deluxe sample sized blushes in the colors Amour, Classic, Prim, and Daydream. I like the variety because I want to be able to switch things up whenever I want. The packing is beautiful without being unnecessarily bulky like some blush sets (I'm looking at you, Benefit!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
Just like the lip set, this collection is already available online and in-stores!<br />
<br />
While this is just the beginning of the Holiday Collections, I think I have found some winners that are going to end up in my makeup drawer before 2014 ends!<br />
<br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-557763679118624497.post-15521879709753567282014-09-01T23:58:00.004-04:002014-09-02T00:00:18.890-04:00Reasons WhyIt's been quite some time since my last post, and while I hate to make excuses here are a couple of reasons why I have had such a quiet blog lately:<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1. I was on vacation in for a week in August. I did not really have a lot of relevant things to blog about so I took the week to enjoy just laying around.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2. School started at the end of the month. Since I am now a senior things are getting pretty intense for me so I have been trying to keep up in these first few weeks so I don't fall behind on anything and mess up my semester. It is vital that everything goes perfect this semester so I can start student teaching in the fall and graduate on time in May!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
3. I moved! I finally moved off of my college campus and into my very first big girl apartment. It has been a huge adjustment since I have spent so long being a Resident Advisor, but it has been exciting nonetheless. I finally have all of my furniture and I even managed to put some stuff on the walls.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
4. Sorority recruitment took over my life. Guys, this is no joke, recruitment takes a lot out of you. It is a lot of long nights and practicing songs and preparing beautifully elaborate rooms and spending time with your sisters while also trying to find new women to add to your wonderful sisterhood. I am very happy to say that after all of our hard work Sigma Kappa took in a wonderful pledge class of amazing women tonight.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg35HuPrlRgQVsq322qnJITUYatx04k37FVII6zzccMElobBgQAQICMNL-buvHqjt8WYlThqGxxzTSoRong2yHC_4qaBp_n-wXdoHAtbGBrTBp0UYdwFOXDpbYtpuXcQGSakNk1wukSHJ3e/s1600/Recruitment.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg35HuPrlRgQVsq322qnJITUYatx04k37FVII6zzccMElobBgQAQICMNL-buvHqjt8WYlThqGxxzTSoRong2yHC_4qaBp_n-wXdoHAtbGBrTBp0UYdwFOXDpbYtpuXcQGSakNk1wukSHJ3e/s1600/Recruitment.png" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br />
However, while it might take another week of getting everything settled, I should be back to blogging regularly within the month and I am looking forward to the next items to swatch. I am eyeing some of the newest holiday sets that are beginning to preview so look forward to that!</div>
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-557763679118624497.post-87241660421541402742014-08-15T12:00:00.000-04:002014-08-15T12:00:00.059-04:00Wet N Wild Megalist Lipstick<div style="text-align: justify;">
So since I have been obsessed with experimenting with new colors but I really don't have the money to try on every lipstick in the world (sadly enough), so I decided to raid Walgreen's Wet N Wild section awhile ago for some $2 lipsticks that I could play around with.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. Wet N Wild Megalast Lipsticks in Bare it All and Purty Persimmon</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9TyodhGOkbowqCSVjmK621Df3Y1hghV_HBvBAiPmUpxxLof3xvoJIEHuS-S3r5NQ05MHwVOBGNlp7nb1rv6VkaLU2zF-lPoTCGqMguojkdtCJLa1t5TanSg9TciFJQWTbprajm089DLBD/s1600/Wet+N+WIld+2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9TyodhGOkbowqCSVjmK621Df3Y1hghV_HBvBAiPmUpxxLof3xvoJIEHuS-S3r5NQ05MHwVOBGNlp7nb1rv6VkaLU2zF-lPoTCGqMguojkdtCJLa1t5TanSg9TciFJQWTbprajm089DLBD/s1600/Wet+N+WIld+2.png" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now all of the lipsticks I bought are mattes because I have so many different lip butter colors and I wanted something different.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bare it All is a brown tinted nude that is really nice. The color stays pretty well and it is easy to apply. Now I do recommend using a lip balm under all of the Megalast Colors because after awhile your lips will start to feel a little dry, but it is honestly not too bad.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Purty Persimmon is my favorite Megalast Color that I own because it is perfect for summer. It is a orange lipstick and like the others it applies very well and stays for a decent time. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now while I do love the color I do not love the fact that this color seems to stain my lips purple-y/pink. I honestly don't know why it stains that color when the actual color is so far off, but the staining will stay all night.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Wet N Wild Megalast Lipstick in Cherry Bomb & Wet N Wild Fergie Collection in Pagan Angel</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjh1TqjQS6JGMbcw097MWsgL8zOCvu6hJGCVvj5eBofEr8SX3fm32e6m0f-_kxmx6DpCbXyUuErZ47GCTgrLpJVaTkSALBgGgEFkYTMCUF6k4zWnSqfae1qFpL42TWNcl3iqvI0ham7JZ6j/s1600/Wet+N+Wild+3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjh1TqjQS6JGMbcw097MWsgL8zOCvu6hJGCVvj5eBofEr8SX3fm32e6m0f-_kxmx6DpCbXyUuErZ47GCTgrLpJVaTkSALBgGgEFkYTMCUF6k4zWnSqfae1qFpL42TWNcl3iqvI0ham7JZ6j/s1600/Wet+N+Wild+3.png" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Cherry Bomb is the perfect fall and winter color in my opinion. I found this color to be the smoothest of all of the ones I have and it once again stays for a decent amount of time. However, you have to make sure to blend it well with your finger after you apply it so it doesn't look splotchy or patchy. Just like Purty Persimmon, Cherry Bomb is very staining and will leave your lips a purple tinted pink color basically all night (no matter how much you try to get it off).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now Pagan Angel is a different story! It is very thick and it is really hard to apply evenly. I had to try over three times to get an even coat and it required a lot of blending with my finger (which is awful with a black lipstick because it is hard to get off your skin). It also smells very strongly of crayons which is very off-putting.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I don't see myself keeping this color around in my regular makeup circulation. Instead, I think this lipstick is going to go where all of my makeup goes to die: the Halloween makeup bin I keep around for face painting and costumes.</div>
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-557763679118624497.post-67756331719936630472014-08-14T00:02:00.000-04:002014-08-14T00:02:59.240-04:00More Burt's Bees Lip Crayons<div style="text-align: justify;">
So I posted yesterday about picking up two of the six Burt's Bees Lip Crayons and how absolutely in love with them I was and as it turns out that my boyfriend saw my post and went out and got me the other four colors which means I HAD to swatch them for you guys!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. Burt's Bees Lip Crayons in Sedona Sands and Carolina Coast</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOR8ZfOofAusPjolH20IbiXnp8lPKXEDVVcRGsg4htE68tQ11tBmbcbQaYrRunbF3JnCPWUsWmPBF5HfqNoJtFve64U45xBmDpoROqyyKXuVu7oqw8PwV0l81JKaj9m3bUezGScAAPqAz1/s1600/Burts+Bees+2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOR8ZfOofAusPjolH20IbiXnp8lPKXEDVVcRGsg4htE68tQ11tBmbcbQaYrRunbF3JnCPWUsWmPBF5HfqNoJtFve64U45xBmDpoROqyyKXuVu7oqw8PwV0l81JKaj9m3bUezGScAAPqAz1/s1600/Burts+Bees+2.png" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They both apply just as well as Niagara Overlook and Napa Vineyard. Sedona Sands is a pink with a slight brown tint and Carolina Coast is a very light pink.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Out of these two Sedona Sands is my favorite because it doesn't apply streaky and it is a great muted color. Carolina Coast can be a bit streaky (which I think is because it is so light colored) but it can be fixed by blending it a little with your finger.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Burt's Bee Lip Crayons in Hawaiian Smolder and Redwood Forest</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJYa-kto67GhWELbZI0FgxmOFaCS4EwhBUygqXcoHezzxW_8M2IIuLhAzexceFiKmZZrcicVctXDmfBPRH2fTvz8gq4gp3tzPKN5SOVfFhUF4XWRkYL7Mn7Wku1szqmlKWKjdHaEjIymmL/s1600/Burts+Bees+3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJYa-kto67GhWELbZI0FgxmOFaCS4EwhBUygqXcoHezzxW_8M2IIuLhAzexceFiKmZZrcicVctXDmfBPRH2fTvz8gq4gp3tzPKN5SOVfFhUF4XWRkYL7Mn7Wku1szqmlKWKjdHaEjIymmL/s1600/Burts+Bees+3.png" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hawaiian Smolder is a perfect pink color that doesn't apply streaky like Carolina Coast and Redwood Forest is a brownish red.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Redwood Forest is actually my favorite out of all of the lip crayons because it has a beautiful tint without being overbearing and it really would go well with almost anything. If I had to rank my favorite colors it would be:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. Redwood Forest</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Niagara Overlook</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. Hawaiian Smolder</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4. Napa Valley</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
5. Sedona Sands</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
6. Carolina Coast</div>

I am currently on a weeklong beach vacation so I can try to relax a little bit before school starts next week; and while I haven't been wearing many lip colors to the beach I did recently pop into a Walgreens for some drinks when I came across some lip displays that I couldn't bring myself to leave without. So instead of just leaving with a drink and maybe a snack, I left with three different lip colors too!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. Burt's Bees Lip Crayons in Napa Vineyard and Niagara Overlook</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4X0LUGuwfc97nmyc3jacn9DkT3q_I_MjW6_84svWIl6b6LKA4rUy2jf8IEBX3YXpXVgapOfIP0HI6uBTlPFx62kK0TioSBlJCeW_GNevaUPs7yaDYxo74XtEFlcyNRmAKTmEnnmvpbE4D/s1600/Burts+Bees+Lip+Crayon.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4X0LUGuwfc97nmyc3jacn9DkT3q_I_MjW6_84svWIl6b6LKA4rUy2jf8IEBX3YXpXVgapOfIP0HI6uBTlPFx62kK0TioSBlJCeW_GNevaUPs7yaDYxo74XtEFlcyNRmAKTmEnnmvpbE4D/s1600/Burts+Bees+Lip+Crayon.png" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now I have been hearing a lot about these new Burt's Bees Lip Crayons but every time I went to a Target to pick one up they were already sold out! However, down here in Florida they happened to have all of the colors and let me tell you it was very hard picking which colors to grab because they all so pretty. I ended up settling on Napa Vineyard and Niagara Overlook because I have been hear Napa Vineyard is the best color and I thought Niagara Overlook would be a great "my lip but better" shade.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These lip crayons are absolutely amazing! They don't feel drying at all and they are truly matte. They have great staying power through both eating and drinking and they apply really evenly and smoothly. I like that I can use these without a lip balm and my lips still look and feel great.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Napa Vineyard is a great red and doesn't move around once applied. I found that it didn't really leave a lot of marks on things like coffee cups. It does take some work to get it off your lips at the end of the day but it is not terribly hard if you are using a washcloth and rub in small circles. What I really like is that when I took it off it didn't really stain the rest of the skin around my mouth (which a lot of red lipsticks seem to do for me).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Niagara Overlook is pretty much the same as far as application and staying power goes. It is definitely my perfect "my lip but better shade" and it is really smooth as well. They were both about $9 each but they were definitely worth it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Wet n Wild Lipstick in Just Peachy</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDbFTjGwmwzymRMddob65mI3tM8Sl75ppJ4QePO0ahCL3BPymxpjqvn7vi8jd1azuh5ovXpuuOWxWfdkz_H36o6CPzBuzYxSyp6kIJ68kmOndd50-pritK_YhbrbiE4NRXQO19rhUV-aBF/s1600/Wet+n+Wild.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDbFTjGwmwzymRMddob65mI3tM8Sl75ppJ4QePO0ahCL3BPymxpjqvn7vi8jd1azuh5ovXpuuOWxWfdkz_H36o6CPzBuzYxSyp6kIJ68kmOndd50-pritK_YhbrbiE4NRXQO19rhUV-aBF/s1600/Wet+n+Wild.png" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There was a huge display of Wet n Wild Lipstick at Walgreens because they are currently donating a portion of their lipstick sales to the American Cancer Society. These were only $2 a piece and I decided to try and exhibit self control and only pick out one shade, Just Peachy.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This lip color is also truly matte and is really easy to apply. The color payoff is great and while it doesn't last as long as the Burt's Bees crayons do, they do last for quite some time. It is smooth to apply and really easy to make even and the color is really nice.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I do recommend using lip balm under the lip stick because while it is not particularly drying on the lips it is not hydrating either. I also really enjoy the shape of Wet N Wild lipsticks because I find the flat and rounded top a lot easier to apply than typical lipstick shapes which tend to have that point on the top. I will definitely be popping back by Walgreens to pick up some more of these colors.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-557763679118624497.post-46951334237876089072014-08-08T16:33:00.000-04:002014-08-08T16:33:47.431-04:00Mixing NYX Cairo with Other Colors<div style="text-align: justify;">
So I've recently posted about how much I hate NYX Matte Lip Cream in Cairo because it's way too light, it's drying, and it makes me look like I have concealer lips. I commented to someone earlier that I would probably never wear Cairo out of the house because I just didn't like it, but later on I had an idea: <i>What if I took my most hated lip color and mixed and matched it with some of my other less used products to try and create something good?</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That thought led to this mini-experiment with lip color in which I used Cairo as a base for my lip color to try and create other lighter shades of two different products I had (but didn't really use that much): Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Cocoa and NYX Chunky Dunk in Pomegranate Margarita.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY1wlDzyCfwFFDZq3WEDDpnXWYnCG6RgFocI0HqoCZUAKLi_f3PHvaSQun6WYZZCYuoF_N_jbZyYcsc39WegkCaMjtpTqpyn8gM3kYyEqGqm2JcFywz_YL4uvtntenpv1dv2l0HR6NrXBg/s1600/Burt's+Bees.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY1wlDzyCfwFFDZq3WEDDpnXWYnCG6RgFocI0HqoCZUAKLi_f3PHvaSQun6WYZZCYuoF_N_jbZyYcsc39WegkCaMjtpTqpyn8gM3kYyEqGqm2JcFywz_YL4uvtntenpv1dv2l0HR6NrXBg/s1600/Burt's+Bees.png" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now I got Cocoa a long time ago as some kind of Burt's Bee Lip Shimmer set, but I never really used it because I didn't like how shimmery it actually was and I thought it was way too brown for me so it just sat around in my makeup drawer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Mixing this color with Cairo made a very pretty nude with a slight shimmer. Since the Lip Shimmer has a minty taste and feel it covered up the gross smell of the NYX Lip Cream and left my lips feeling nice and smooth. Honestly, I think that these two made a great pair.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifQORR7cCgCpbf9dsr2dUgh82oVetm2c_ne2xg3cTUZMiMo7bioEsbeymm13plMvmoCGkiX50XRqzOwM_4GjcZCV2GlKtBecye5M6cnoIU_FC0uhqY6Gyt2mF-Oli0JADDBFuGAdufsp0Q/s1600/NYX+Chunky+Dunk.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifQORR7cCgCpbf9dsr2dUgh82oVetm2c_ne2xg3cTUZMiMo7bioEsbeymm13plMvmoCGkiX50XRqzOwM_4GjcZCV2GlKtBecye5M6cnoIU_FC0uhqY6Gyt2mF-Oli0JADDBFuGAdufsp0Q/s1600/NYX+Chunky+Dunk.png" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I bought this NYX Chunky Dunk not too long ago because I love the color, however, I don't wear it much because no matter how hard I try I think it looks patchy when I applied it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When I first applied the Chunky Dunk over Cairo it made this really pretty muted pink (which I have a feeling I am going to be wearing a lot). Since the Chunky Dunk is hydrating it took away the dryness brought on by Cairo and having the cream under the Chunky Dunk made it a lot easier to move it where I needed to without making it look patchy and uneven.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
While I really liked the color, I thought that it didn't bring out enough of the purple in Pomegranate Margarita, so I applied another coat of the NYX Chunky Dunk over Cairo and it came out with a darker, more purple tinted color which was still very wearable. It still felt hydrating without feeling too wet or glossy.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
All in all I think I might have just re-introduced some products into my regular makeup bag so I feel like this was a win. While Cairo isn't great on its own, it does make a great base for lightening up lip colors.</div>
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-557763679118624497.post-45747597027098027552014-08-06T20:25:00.003-04:002014-08-06T20:40:32.390-04:00My Current Favorite and Least Favorite Lip Colors<div style="text-align: justify;">
So recently I have been obsessed with different lip colors and products and have been buying a lot more of them lately to try and find the perfect colors for every occasion. However, my summer has been kind of hectic which means when I put on my make up I am literally throwing it on and running out of the door, which means that I have been neglecting to wear a lot of lip color besides the occasional tinted lip balm I find in my bag.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I though that the fact that summer classes are coming to an end was the perfect reason to swatch some of my recently bought (and sadly neglected) lip colors.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8v6bnKoxyA-9-LNspNYd4dIX7NEi8gDhi34domrq4rk43RxWPFNczWeMs6Di1CLRHfQwxj1L4NVlVJrjpaNNG0e2zfolxTroPZS9dY873mzokff5OjW5l9bHtB2SrpBHDBSZqeRwuNYnC/s1600/NYX+Lipstick.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8v6bnKoxyA-9-LNspNYd4dIX7NEi8gDhi34domrq4rk43RxWPFNczWeMs6Di1CLRHfQwxj1L4NVlVJrjpaNNG0e2zfolxTroPZS9dY873mzokff5OjW5l9bHtB2SrpBHDBSZqeRwuNYnC/s1600/NYX+Lipstick.png" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These are the NYX Lipsticks in Doll and Margarita. I <b>love</b> Doll, it is definitely one of my favorites. The color is perfect for me and the formula is so smooth and it only takes one coat to get full coverage. The color stays for a decent amount of time and it doesn't feel drying at all.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, I <b>hate</b> Margarita. The color is actually frosted and it goes on really chunky. It makes my lips look and feel really dry. I also think it makes my lips look like they are flaking, which is awful. I will probably never wear this color, which is a shame because the in store swatch I did with the tester looked like it was going to be a nice coral-ish color.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU10myraFFxcgup_VJZRWmgB4IKfw7Qlak2x3jp_iphVJDNb0LiR68DDkxvNiz4VgW-SkwDxqFKfT6OZqipSSajkMsGWZz7E827EbaI3amFHq0jAqPXVdD3ZptT8fqUmb1QiirUG9C0D2J/s1600/NYX+Soft+matte+Lip+cream.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU10myraFFxcgup_VJZRWmgB4IKfw7Qlak2x3jp_iphVJDNb0LiR68DDkxvNiz4VgW-SkwDxqFKfT6OZqipSSajkMsGWZz7E827EbaI3amFHq0jAqPXVdD3ZptT8fqUmb1QiirUG9C0D2J/s1600/NYX+Soft+matte+Lip+cream.png" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cairo. I honestly do not know how I feel about this product at all.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I think the lip cream smells sickly sweet (like synthetic vanilla) which is very off putting. I also think that this color applies very streaky no matter what I do and in the end it just looks like I have rubbed a concealer stick on my lips which I think it makes my lips look like I am dead. In addition to that it settles into all of the creases in my lips and very drying.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, this stuff is truly matte and it really does have some staying power; but I find that the only way to wear this color is to apply a coat of clear gloss to the top to reduce the streaky and drying appearance. The clear gloss makes it look like a prettier, wearable nude instead of concealer lips.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwrukWlk-IJLt0GRvwN_jPdnXH6LbLB0sLcMRSGiFwQEqQM36WcTkt0kly3tIZG5Ak_M_ZW0Bd_v2zPkcujkNNv8PLkA7YQBlJF04CRovER6eQi_tDCu-OZiIbZBG1OOQ6k8m_gCzIJTw0/s1600/Revlon.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwrukWlk-IJLt0GRvwN_jPdnXH6LbLB0sLcMRSGiFwQEqQM36WcTkt0kly3tIZG5Ak_M_ZW0Bd_v2zPkcujkNNv8PLkA7YQBlJF04CRovER6eQi_tDCu-OZiIbZBG1OOQ6k8m_gCzIJTw0/s1600/Revlon.png" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Fig Jam. This is nothing new, but it is definitely one of my favorite lip butters and one of my favorite colors (it definitely beats the NYX Lip Butters). It looks really dark in the tube, but it applies to what I like to think of as a candy apple color (not to be confused with the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple). I think it is a great fall color without being too dark.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, while I do love this shade I sometimes become weary of how wet it looks and the staying power isn't that great (but the way it glides on the lips does make it nice to reapply it).<br />
<br />
In the future, I would love to add some more lip crayons to my lip collection, but right now I am making due with what I have.</div>

<br />
It's the first day of August which means that it is only 18 more days until the first day of the fall semester and 16 days until I move into my new apartment! I have to say I am ready for fall classes to start so I can get some more structure in my life...<br />
<br />
Speaking of structure my number one favorite thing this week is:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiio60-TVBLYbbneIojB2iNEjF7uIrhjlssjFAdOslxY0xAFuxYgnvDuvxIEcs7cIiMG6BaEovkL0kksvImUZ7CLiUYqO-VTvgyJxzwpHb8L2dRAf4HNSYhChieAWXthJ_I8fg_blwVkymP/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-08-01+at+8.25.04+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiio60-TVBLYbbneIojB2iNEjF7uIrhjlssjFAdOslxY0xAFuxYgnvDuvxIEcs7cIiMG6BaEovkL0kksvImUZ7CLiUYqO-VTvgyJxzwpHb8L2dRAf4HNSYhChieAWXthJ_I8fg_blwVkymP/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-08-01+at+8.25.04+PM.png" height="320" width="248" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. My Lily Pulitzer Jumbo Agenda in Trippin' and Slippin'</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am not a huge fan of Lily Pulitzer clothing because it is all a little too bright and busy for me. However, I cannot deny that Lily Pulitzer makes some amazing planners.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am an Education major and I hold a position in my sorority which means I have to keep up with all kinds of different dates and deadlines. The jumbo planner is big enough that I have enough room to write everything out, however, it is not too big that it is a hinderance to take it with me.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I love the fact that is has a hardcover and comes with little save the date stickers for a variety of occasions, and while I don't see myself decking out in head to toe Lily anytime soon, I can see myself carrying around these planners for awhile!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><b>2. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7atuZxmT956QzFpiCWAQT0uAOUU2iNcr">Co-Optitude on Geek and Sundry</a></b></b></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If I could make Co-Optitude my favorite every single week I definitely would because I am absolutely obsessed with it. In this YouTube show on Geek and Sundry, Felicia Day and her brother Ryon Day play various video games with varying degrees of success.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It comes out every single Monday and it is absolutely hilarious, so I highly recommend you check it out. Their sibling banter reminds me of long nights with my little sisters yelling at each other and the tv while playing Donkey Kong Country on the SNES.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>3. <a href="http://crunchyroll.com/">Crunchyroll</a></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now I have been out of the anime game for quite some time lately. With all of my schoolwork, sorority things, and general life I haven't really been able to keep up a regular anime schedule like I used to be able to when I was in high school. Lately, I have found myself wanting to get back into anime and I have been loving the Crunchyroll free trial.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Crunchyroll is basically Netflix for anime, which is great since Netflix lost a good portion of its anime awhile back (bring back Mushishi ;_;). It's a little under $7 per month for a HUGE selection of anime, which is nice because I get to watch it on my tv (with the PS3 app) and I get to go at my own pace instead of having to search a million years for links to slow streaming spam filled sites on the internet.</div>
